Aircraft Twirls Out of Control into Palm Fronds at Frequented Southern California Shoreline
A chopper soaring above a popular coastal coastline abruptly started spinning out of control, ultimately losing altitude and smashing into a row of palm trees as onlookers watched.
Footage shared on the internet capture the helicopter starting to spin over the shoreline then descending in the direction of the perimeter of the shore, where it ends up lodged amidst palms and a staircase adjacent to the shoreline route.
Emergency Response Information
Emergency responders stated five individuals were rushed to the hospital involving a pair who were in the helicopter and were “extracted safely from the crash site” after the accident on that day.
Three persons on the street were injured. Specifics on their injuries were not immediately available.
The reason for the accident was still under investigation.
